the original armour
Body armor, sometimes called body armour, self-defense armour, or personal protective equipment, is basically protective gear designed to absorb or withstand physical harm. It was first developed in the third century BC by soldiers in ancient Greece. Body armour changed a lot over the years and the original material used was very soft and made from a kind of hide that did not easily tear, dent or otherwise damage. Since the original armour was so light and flexible, soldiers often wore it over their regular clothes so that any cuts or other impacts while they were on the battlefield could be easily covered up.
Body armour evolved into a solid protective layer that would protect the wearer even when he or she was subjected to great amounts of damage. Modern body armour is composed of thick, heavy plates of alloys and is often worn on the upper part of the torso. It is usually worn on the arms and legs, but some battle reenactments still use the original body armour as a ceremonial weapon. The original armour was quite effective against sharp objects, such as arrows, spears and most swords, but today’s modern body armor can also repel bullets and other projectiles. Modern body armour can also extend to the groin area to provide additional protection against kicks and other types of strikes to the body.
protective body armour
There are several types of protective body armour. Soft body armor, such as nij body armour or the common plate armour is designed primarily to stop bullets. This is accomplished by having thicker layers of material around the bullet or projectiles than those found on regular arm and leg armour. Nij body armour is sometimes also referred to as body armour for short, and is a very thin, lightweight type of armour that can only withstand bullets or other small projectiles. However, it is still effective against rifles and shotguns at close range.
Another type of this type of body armor is the steel alloy plates, which are commonly used in military applications such as in the US Marine Corps, UK’s Army and police forces. Although it is a lot less thick than its aluminium counterpart, it is still quite sturdy. One of the advantages of steel plates is that they do not deform or break into sharp pieces after being shot at. They are also resistant to tear and impact.
heavy cavalry armour
Another common use for this type of body armor comes in the form of the heavy cavalry armour used by the French king in the 15th century. This armour was generally composed of mail armour covered by a cloth-like material. The mail armour provided protection against swords, spears and even knives. Although this type of armor was generally used by the French monarchy, it was later adopted by the Duke of Burgundy and the Duke of Orleans, two of the most powerful and famous kings of Europe.
Dyneema, on the other hand, is another common type of personal protective equipment. It is also known by several other names such as mail vest, body armor vest and poncho. The basic construction of this type of vest is similar to that of the heavy duty vest however, the materials used are much lighter. Dyneema is made from cotton, polyester or nylon. A common use of these materials include tourniquets, combat boots and gun holsters. These items are commonly worn by members of the armed forces, law enforcement and various types of emergency medical services to protect themselves during times of trouble.
